Lines, strokes and geometry remain a constant in the joint carpet designs of Ronan Bouroullec & Nani Marquina. Doblecara is the latest of several collaborations between the two designers – with the aim of combining the ancient technique of kilim with the modernity of Bouroullec’s designs.
They find the space for this in the Geba carpet gallery, which has been at home in the heart of Graz’s old town since 1987 and is a permanent fixture in international carpet design. Inspired by modern art and architecture, Harald Geba rethought the carpet. Since then, Geba carpets have combined timeless modern designs with traditional craftsmanship.
A carpet is a wonderful addition to any room, in any shape, and thus a true work of art. It quickly conquers all the senses – we walk barefoot over it, run our fingers over the patterns.
