Meissl Architects: Villa Maya

Perched high above Lake Garda, on the hill of Albisano, is Villa Maya, the new project from the heart of MEISSL-Architects. For a long time now, the village of Albisano has been known for its charming flair, its enchanting narrow streets and its spectacular views, but it is only since spring 2023 that it has also been allowed to call itself home to a bright, elegant apartment building.

“It is always an experience to complete a project in such a wonderful location. The location, the view and the simplicity of the building are perfect conditions for a real recreation hub.”

Alexander Meissl

Two garden and four terrace flats of 80 square metres each extend over three floors, with exclusive access to the communal garden and infinity pool. The rooftop outdoor kitchen by Klumaier x Tanner is perfect for dinner parties and is a BBQ enthusiast’s paradise. In keeping with the motto “Less is more”, the furnishings of Villa Maya have been kept minimalist: simple shapes, earthy tones and furnishings reduced to the essentials allow guests to come to rest. The homogeneous, seamless floors found in all rooms and on all terraces contribute to the villa’s simple appearance. Relaxation with a view – Villa Maya on the eastern shore of Lake Garda.

About MEISSL Architects
The creative and innovative team of experts at MEISSL Architects has been providing solutions for the future for its clients in the second generation – since 1958 – and focuses on a holistic, sustainable and cross-generational approach. 63 years ago, Ernst Meissl – a luminary in the field of alpine (hotel) architecture – founded his own architectural office in Tyrol with a tireless creative drive. Ernst Meissl passed on his great passion and knowledge to his two children Alexander Meissl and Carola Meissl-Handle, who took over the architectural office in Seefeld in 1990. Through constant growth, the siblings were able to open a branch office in Vienna in 1997, which is still very successful today. In 2007, a branch office was also founded in Bolzano, which was incorporated into the Seefeld headquarters in 2011. In 2008, a specialisation in project development took place in positioning concepts of extraordinary tourism and hotel projects based on EKS as well as the implementation of architectural and interior planning and graphic design. Gordon Grusdat (Berlin) and Stefan Plattner (Seefeld) complete the team of MEISSL Architects as architects and managing partners.
