INSPIRATION FROM AROUND THE WORLD FOR AN AESTHETIC AND MEANINGFUL LIFESTYLE

Satisfaction: Divers

In Divers, New York–based photographer and filmmaker Geordie Wood captures the quiet poetry of high diving — suspended between absolute control and total surrender. Shot during an elite winter training camp in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, the short film follows a small group of world-class divers drawn to one of the tallest permanent diving platforms on the planet.

Guided by the rhythms of daily training, Wood observes moments of preparation, subtle rituals, and the charged anticipation before ascending the 27-meter tower. Between adrenaline and stillness, a visual language emerges — one that understands the dive as an act of radical presence.

“High diving demands immense physical strength and mental resilience, and yet it’s also about surrender. It became a way to explore pure presence.”
— Geordie Wood

Premiering at Visions du Réel, Divers unfolds like a balletic meditation on movement: fleeting moments of weightlessness before the body slices into water below. A study of discipline, courage, and the rare clarity found only in being fully, intensely present.
