A contemporary retreat rooted in history

Located in the historic heart of Mérida, Hotel Sevilla is a newly opened boutique hotel that thoughtfully bridges colonial heritage with contemporary design. As part of the Grupo Habita, it represents a refined, locally grounded vision of modern luxury.
A building shaped by time
Housed in one of Mérida’s oldest historic structures, Hotel Sevilla carries centuries of architectural memory. Rather than masking this past, the renovation celebrates it—revealing original walls, proportions, and spatial rhythms that now coexist with modern interventions.

Architecture as conversation
The project was led by Zeller & Moye, known for their sensitive yet bold architectural language. Concrete volumes, minimal forms, and raw materials stand in deliberate contrast to the colonial fabric, creating a space defined by balance and restraint.

Design & mood
With just 21 rooms and suites, each space feels intimate and individual. Local materials, handcrafted elements, and a muted palette foster a sense of calm. Courtyards and open transitions invite light, air, and the rhythms of Mérida into the hotel’s interior world.
An urban sanctuary
Despite its central location, Hotel Sevilla offers a sense of retreat. The courtyard pool, restaurant, and shared spaces are conceived as places to pause, connect, and experience the city at a slower pace—reflecting Habita’s ethos of mindful hospitality.
A new cultural landmark
Praised by international design publications such as Wallpaper*, Hotel Sevilla is already recognized as one of Mexico’s most compelling new hotel openings, redefining how heritage and contemporary hospitality can coexist.
Hotel Sevilla is neither nostalgic nor ostentatious. It is a quietly confident space—where architecture, history, and modern living come together with clarity and purpose.
