Louis Vuitton presents the Pre-Fall 2024 women’s collection in Shanghai

Louis Vuitton proudly presented the Pre-Fall 2024 women’s collection in Shanghai. Nicolas Ghesquière,Creative Director of the women’s collections, celebrates a remarkable decade of innovation and creativity at Louis Vuitton with this collection.

In the impressive setting of the Long Museum, the largest private museum in China, the collection reveals a symbiosis of traditional elegance and youthful exuberance, inspired by the stylistic vitality of Chinese youth. In collaboration with the young contemporary artist Sun Yitian the collection is enriched with lively and figurative bestiary motifs that give the characteristic silhouettes a new expression.

“The connection between the paintings on the canvas and the viewer is in a way static and still, a form of observation with a small distance. However, when my artworks are translated into clothes, bags or perfumes, they come much closer to people, and this interaction is lively and unpredictable. It creates an equal relationship of utilisation,” says Sun Yitian.

The collection is characterised by a playful exploration of shapes and colours, in which classic prints are reinterpreted in surprising combinations. Accessories such as the Petite Malle, the LV Twist and the brand new Slim Trunk complete the narrative and open up new chapters in the history of the French Maison.
