In Mittelburgenland, K+K does not necessarily stand for monarchy. Although the winery K+K Kirnbauer produces wines worthy of imperial and royal distinction, the initials actually represent Marlene and Markus Kirnbauer — who also happen to share the same initials in their first names.
For around 350 years, the Kirnbauer family has been rooted in Deutschkreutz, between the vast Pannonian landscape and a distinctly Tuscan sense of life. For Markus, Blaufränkisch is far more than a grape variety — it is a character of its own. Marlene shapes the world surrounding the wines with a refined sense of aesthetics and just the right amount of drama. Together, they have created a winery identity that reaches far beyond traditional winemaking.
Across approximately 45 hectares, the vineyards are cultivated with great care — organically and with a clear vision for the future. At the heart of everything lies Blaufränkisch, interpreted in all its facets: approachable or profound, pure or as the backbone of great cuvées.

Das Phantom has become an iconic Blaufränkisch-based cuvée. Since 1987, the wine has appeared almost every year — deep red, powerful and layered.
The Forever Cuvée matures for 38 months exclusively in new French barriques and is defined by remarkable longevity.
Meanwhile, Houdini Zweigelt awakens the senses — a wine like an illusion: familiar at first glance, yet full of surprises.
And then comes the moment when the first bottle is opened. At the winery, whose deep red façade radiates the same warmth as the wines in the glass, this moment feels especially memorable.
