Interpreting the Phases of the Moon: Lune Wall Sconce
At Paris Design Week 2025, Franck Genser unveiled the Lune Wall Sconce, a mesmerizing interplay of light and form that poetically interprets the phases of the moon.
The wall sconce, a backlit half-sphere carved from solid alabaster, radiates a soft, warm glow, revealing the natural veining of the stone. With a gentle pull of the cord, the light transforms – from a delicate crescent to a luminous half-moon and finally to a radiant full moon. A subtle dialogue of light, material, and perception that transforms any space.
Franck Genser: Between Engineering and Emotional Design
Since founding his Paris studio in 2015, he has collaborated with a multidisciplinary team of engineers and artisans to produce pieces that are both practical and sensuous. His designs are born from imagination and perception, aiming not merely to fill a space but to transform it.
Combining engineering expertise, entrepreneurial spirit, and the inspiration of Gestalt therapy—which emphasizes the constant interaction between humans and their surroundings—Franck Genser creates furniture that merges form, function, and emotion.
The Lune Wall Sconce is more than a lamp – it is a poetic object of light, evoking moods, awakening the senses, and creating a harmonious connection between humans, their space, and nature.
