The 5-star Hotel Schloss Seefels in Techelsberg near Pörtschach is located directly by the lake Wörthersee and impresses after the makeover with luxury in a surprisingly different way. The motto is: more is more.
More space, more colour, lots of art & design and the highest degree of individuality in all 68 rooms and suites, the Seefels Spa, the Premium Gym, the Gourmet Restaurant and the Schloss (Castle) Bar. In the boutique hotel, historical architecture, bold style and opulent design merge to create a unique holiday atmosphere.
Directly by the lake Wörthersee, Schloss Seefels in Techselsberg near Pörtschach, built in 1860 in the light and airy Neo-Renaissance style and one of the most famous Wörthersee architectural buildings, blends harmoniously into the landscape. The 5-star hotel is one of the four boutique hotels (boutiquehotels.travel) of co-owner and host Helena Ramsbacher, who furnishes her hotels the way she likes to live in her private life.
A little bit crazy, très chic and everything at its best,
says art collector and host Helena Ramsbacher.
Thy style
Her feeling for colours, shapes, styles and their combinations runs through the lobby, the 68 rooms and suites, the Seefels spa, premium gym and gourmet restaurant to the bar; even in the Kids Club her signature is evident, embodying a style that cannot be copied. Helena Ramsbacher combines extravagant patterns with strong colours, mixes floral with geometric and classic with avant-garde.
Added to this are ingenious details, exquisite accessories and original works of art from the Strabag Kunstforum and the family. The result: a “Non Fungible Seefels”, a place to see and a place to be. A luxury in a new way that amazes with its surprises room after room; and is unique with its generosity of space in the 30,000 sqm castle garden, on the restaurant terrace with more than one seat per guest and with as many guests as staff.
Rooms & Suites
13 designs – from monochrome taupe to botanical with flower wheels, cacti, butterflies or climbing flowers to animal with parrots, hummingbirds or peacocks – give the living spaces their personality. The leading colour, of which there are nine from powder pink and light blue to orange and green, is found in the bed head and in the impressive inlays on the doors, wardrobes, desks, bedside tables and minibars.
From the posament on the room key to the socket with USB and charging cable connection to the Dyson hairdryer, everything has been thought out down to the last detail. Lamps by Venini made of fine Murano glass and warm white lighting by Flos show the room and the original artworks from the Strabag Kunstforum and the family selected by Helena Ramsbacher to match the colour and mood in the best light.
Gourmet-Restaurant
On what is probably the most beautiful restaurant terrace on lake Wörthersee, there is a seat for all Schloss Seefels guests and thus the opportunity to take breakfast and dinner outside, as if floating above the water. The Schloss Seefels à la carte breakfast is served on service specially designed by the renowned Viennese porcelain manufacturer Augarten. In the restaurant, the colours Bordeaux, Chamois, Pink and Terracotta create a restrained elegance and leave full attention to a very special gem, the wine-climate room with 700 bottles of red wine, white wine and champagne. The lighting concept by Christian Ploderer creates an atmospheric ambience. The dishes, which have been awarded three toques and 92 points, are created under the guidance of chef Richard Hessl in the Lohberger kitchen, the Rolls Royce of commercial kitchens.
Lake-Restaurant Porto Bello
Porto Bello says what it is: the restaurant directly on the hotel’s own marina, which brings lake Wörthersee in with fish designs and sophisticated wall reflections right up to the lounge and bar. The light and airy white wooden architecture in pavilion style sets the stage for the stylish interior in Carinthia’s national colours of yellow, red and white. “Carinthia interpreted in a modern way” is the motto that runs through everything from the designer chairs and the floating lampion lighting to the colourful Taitù crockery and cutlery in shiny gold. In the open Lohberger kitchen, delicious summer dishes from the Alpe-Adria cuisine with a focus on “freshly caught fish from lake Wörthersee” are created under the guidance of chef and toque chef Richard Hessl. With its box seats, Porto Bello is the new design hotspot on lake Wörthersee and a stylish meeting place for lunch, sundowners and candlelight dinners.
Seefels-Spa
Gold, Urban Jungle and a sea of flowers await guests in the spa. The mix of flowering artworks made of Bisazza glass mosaic tiles and the floor-to-ceiling wall tiles in Jungle Print is as daring as it is successful. In between, the columns glitter in Bisazza gold, which carries through to the saunas.
What tops the opulence and splendour in the architecturally unique spa is the panorama sauna with glazing for an unobstructed view of lake Wörthersee. The six treatment rooms are located directly by the lake. Also in these rooms, the walls bloom and “jungle” in magnificent colours, while guests are pampered with exclusive treatments from the premium brand Sisley.
Premium-Gym
The location with the fully glazed window front for an unrestricted view over the outdoor pool and lake Wörthersee to the Karawanken mountains is premium. The TechnoGym equipment is also premium: treadmills, Skillmill, bikes, steppers, rowing machines, FlyingTRX and Power Rack.
On one wall the wallpaper shows Palm Beach feeling, on the other wall lake Wörthersee shines turquoise blue. At the exit to the lakeside restaurant Porto Bello, fish swim by on the wallpaper. And in the middle of it all, the guests are bodyshaping, working out, training their muscles and stamina – once a week, personal training is introduced.
Kids Club
A designer wallpaper by Pierre Frey that can be scribbled on? The kids at Seefels are allowed to. That’s exactly what the wallpaper with dinos, crocodiles, birds and all kinds of animals is for. The Donald Duck toilet and the washbasin at children’s height with duck taps are also popular. The Kids Club is open during the holiday season from Tuesday to Saturday from 2pm to 9pm.
Open continuously from 25 May 2022 to 08 January 2023.
