Cara Delevingne takes control of the new ARMEDANGELS DETOXDENIM campaign. “Never the Expected” brings together her uncompromising individuality, innovative materials, strong silhouettes and a denim production model that challenges the status quo.

Cara Delevingne has never been easy to confine to a single role. Model, actor, musician – and, above all, a personality who repeatedly escapes expectations. It is precisely this unpredictability that makes her the face of the Autumn/Winter 2026 DETOXDENIM-Kollektion by ARMEDANGELS.
Entitled “Never the Expected,” the campaign presents denim not as an untouchable classic, but as a material in constant evolution. Inside a fictional DETOXDENIM Lab, Delevingne takes command, overturning familiar images and transforming jeans into an attitude: curious, independent and open to change.
The Art of Refusing Definition
For years, Cara Delevingne has moved between different creative worlds. She has appeared on international runways, acted in film and television productions and is now opening another chapter with her debut album, Not Normal, due to be released on September 25, 2026.

The album title could equally serve as a headline for her collaboration with ARMEDANGELS. Delevingne and the Cologne-based fashion brand share a refusal to fit into predetermined forms.
„ARMEDANGELS does many things differently from most brands. And that matters, because you know exactly what you are wearing and how it was made,” says Cara Delevingne.
“Never the Expected,” however, goes beyond rebellious imagery. The campaign asks how denim should look, feel and be produced today.
Denim as a Material Experiment
Since 2018, ARMEDANGELS has brought its alternative approaches to jeans production together under the name DETOXDENIM. Materials, washes, processing and finishing are continually reassessed. The aim is to create jeans that, according to the brand, avoid synthetic pesticides and hazardous chemicals, require fewer resources and still deliver on fit, quality and aesthetics.

A central material in the new collection is SaXcell®. The next-generation Lyocell fibre consists of 30 per cent recycled cotton textile waste and 70 per cent FSC®-certified wood pulp. It combines a soft touch and fluid drape with the quality of a newly produced fibre. ARMEDANGELS first introduced SaXcell® in spring 2025 and has continued to expand its use.
Selvedge denim also takes centre stage. Woven on traditional looms, it is distinguished by its particularly clean and durable edge. Instead of the traditional red detail, ARMEDANGELS uses a yellow selvedge that reflects the brand’s visual identity – a subtle but distinctive departure from denim convention. The fabric itself is made from organic cotton.
For washing and finishing, the brand uses technologies including ozone and laser treatments to reduce water consumption and chemical use. Independent certifications such as GOTS, GRS, OCS and RCS already document the materials and production standards applied to parts of the collection.
New Silhouettes in Deep Indigo
Visually, the Autumn/Winter 2026 collection moves between intense Deep Indigo, pronounced vintage washes and relaxed yet assertive silhouettes.

The womenswear selection includes the workwear-inspired Aalthea barrel fit, the wide-leg Enijaa and Astraeaas, and the Aikaala straight fit. In the menswear collection, volume is explored through the Maakxy relaxed tapered fit, the Jaameo baggy fit and the new Maadox classic straight fit.
Rather than following one dominant trend, the silhouettes demonstrate the versatility of contemporary denim: structured or fluid, fitted or deliberately oversized, nostalgic yet oriented towards the future.
Cara Delevingne therefore becomes more than the recognisable face of a campaign. She embodies its central idea: identity is never static. It can evolve, contradict itself and be reinvented again and again.

The DETOXDENIM collection featuring Cara Delevingne is available from September 17, 2026, at armedangels.com and selected physical retailers.
