INSPIRATION FROM AROUND THE WORLD FOR AN AESTHETIC AND MEANINGFUL LIFESTYLE
At the Farmhouse Torgglerhof where the Passeier Valley begins and everyday life softens to a quieter tone, many things grow. Above all, apples. A great many apples. So many, in fact, that the farm was once simply called the “Apple Hotel” — a name that suited it perfectly at the time, yet eventually felt too small for what it had become.
It would actually be more appropriate to call Willi Stürz a master miner than a master cellarer, as he doesn't store his most valuable wine in the cellar, but in the mountain tunnel. This wine was even awarded 100 Parker points in 2019. A portrait of the exceptional Epokale from the Cantina Tramin - a bottle that has made history in South Tyrol.
The Küglerhof may be easy to describe — yet it is far more beautiful to experience the small boutique hotel above Merano in South Tyrol with all the senses.
Many stories from Brixen are shaped by water – and at the Boutique Hotel Badhaus, this “blue gold” caresses body and soul, even when snow is falling.
At the Arthotel Lasserhaus, five contemporary works stand out between the Baroque architecture and the house’s rich history – subtle, playful, and full of thought-provoking questions about time and structure
It's called slow food and yet the food at Villa Arnica is served very quickly. If you want, you can even choose your own ingredients in the natural garden. A glance over the garden fence is all it takes. Or you can take a few more steps into the 3,000 square metre Arnica field. The sun is shining. The first lettuces are poking their heads out of the soil. There is a delicate scent. The gardening season begins.
Even as a child, she was welcomed by the guests at her parents’ establishment with a glass of schnapps in their hands. As a born and bred “Puschterin” [someone from Pustertal] and with experience in hospitality, Gudrun Huber now runs the Hofergut in her South Tyrolean homeland. With a great deal of passion and enthusiasm, she looks after both her guests and the almost 1,000-year-old property. She’s like the Fairy Godmother of the building. We asked her about where the walls express their historic charm, which collector’s items are hidden here and what she takes out of the smokehouse at night, plus much more.
The Küglerhof in South Tyrol is surrounded by vineyards, meadows, forests and panoramic views. Owner Karoline Dilitz affectionately calls the surrounding 3.5 hectares of her hotel the Green Island. What is there to experience in the garden oasis? Lots of greenery, plus this and that, but above all peace and dolce vita.
