Where healing becomes a way of living
Set among vineyards, fragrant gardens, and ancient trees in South Africa’s Cape Winelands, Sterrekopje defies categorisation. It is not a hotel, nor a retreat, nor a spa. It is a philosophy—one of the most compelling expressions of mindful living today.
Beyond hospitality

Spread across a 50-hectare regenerative farm, Sterrekopje is designed as a sanctuary for reconnection—with nature, with rhythm, and with oneself.
Created by founders Nicole Boekhoorn and Fleur Huijskens, the project draws on global influences—from Europe to India—yet remains deeply rooted in the land it inhabits.
Rhythm over routine
Life at Sterrekopje unfolds through daily “rhythms” rather than schedules:

- yoga, meditation,
- and breathwork
- creative expression through art and craft
- cooking,
- harvesting, and baking
- holistic therapies from sound healing to reiki

Nothing is mandatory. Everything is intuitive.
This creates space for a rare experience: learning to listen inward again.
A sensory philosophy

Food, scent, texture—everything at Sterrekopje is designed to awaken the senses.
The farm-to-table kitchen sources ingredients directly from its gardens, while an on-site apothecary creates botanical infusions and tonics.
Even more striking: in the heart of wine country, Sterrekopje consciously shifts the narrative away from alcohol—towards nourishment in a broader, more holistic sense.
Emotional design

The eleven “sanctuaries” feel more like personal worlds than hotel rooms.
Antiques, layered textiles, curated wallpapers—every detail is chosen to evoke warmth and introspection rather than spectacle.
Design here is not about aesthetics alone. It is about how a space makes you feel.
A new definition of luxury
Sterrekopje represents a shift in how we understand luxury:

Not excess, but:
- stillness
- time
- presence
- care
As one travel editor described it, this is not a place to escape—but a place “to remember what it feels like to be human.”.“
THE Stylemate Insight
Sterrekopje embodies the future of travel:
intentional, regenerative, deeply human.

It is not about going away—
but about coming back to yourself.
