INSPIRATION FROM AROUND THE WORLD FOR AN AESTHETIC AND MEANINGFUL LIFESTYLE

Morning, Afternoon, Evening: The Distance Between Us

In Morning, Afternoon, Evening, filmmaker Leonel Dietsche explores a paradox of contemporary urban life: the longing for genuine connection in a world that seems more connected than ever.

Set across a single day in Los Angeles, the short film follows three intimate stories. A grieving teenager navigating loss on the Metro, a Taiwanese visitor confronted with emotional distance from her lover, and an aging music executive sharing margaritas and confessions with a young escort. Each character searches for closeness, yet true intimacy remains just beyond reach.

With a naturalistic approach, Dietsche captures the subtle tensions between vulnerability and detachment, revealing how power dynamics, expectations and social hierarchies often shape our relationships. Los Angeles becomes more than a backdrop—it emerges as a reflection of a wider condition in which meaningful connection is frequently replaced by transactional encounters.

A quiet and deeply human meditation on loneliness, intimacy and the enduring desire to be seen.
