When the first fairways open in the Zillertal and, higher up, ski edges are still carving into the firn, a rare moment unfolds: skiing and golf meet.
What connects the silence of a snow-covered slope with the openness of a fairway? Perhaps the same clear breath before the first swing.
Between spring and winter lies the Sportresidenz Zillertal, right where snow-capped peaks and lush greens merge.

From 2,400 meters down to 550 meters
In March, the Golfclub Zillertal-Uderns kicks off the season. One of the first golf courses in Tyrol to open each year, it sits at 550 meters above sea level, with views of the surrounding three-thousand-meter peaks. The mild climate makes golfing possible from March through November.
Just a few minutes away, the ski resorts are still dressed in white. The Hochzillertal-Kaltenbach ski region offers sunny spring skiing up to 2,400 meters – including Early Morning Skiing from 7:30 a.m.Von 2.400 Metern auf 550 Meter
From the Mountain to the Green
The location makes all the difference. Hardly any golf course in Tyrol is situated so close to several snow-sure ski areas with extensive lift networks. Within just 30 minutes, an exceptional density of slopes is within reach.
And yet, later, you return to the valley — to springlike warmth. Ready for the pleasures of golf.
A Shared Rhythm
For a few weeks each year, a single day here can hold both: carving turns on the slopes and teeing off on the course. And the two complement each other surprisingly well.
Skiing builds strength in the legs and core, and sharpens balance. Golf calls for precision, rhythm, and concentration.

One Day, Two Beginnings — or Three
Those who hold their line in the snow in the morning often feel greater calm in their swing by the afternoon. They are two movements sharing a single focus.
In the spa at the Sportresidenz Zillertal, sauna, massage, and the infinity pool gently release tension from body and mind. Regeneration becomes part of the experience — a continuation of movement in stillness.

Guardians of Both Worlds
At the club, two Olympic ski champions, Stephan Eberharter and Leonhard Stock, serve as vice presidents. Even the greenkeepers know both worlds: in summer, they care for the greens; in winter, they work on the slopes. Here, a season is not a break — it’s a transition.

Between green and white, there is no competition of the seasons here. Rather, it’s a harmony: a gentle transition from winter to spring. It feels like its own season, quietly slipping into the Zillertal, where golf and skiing briefly meet and shake hands.
Green und Green
Starting December 2026, the Sportresidenz Zillertal will welcome a new addition to the Schultz Group family: the sister hotel THE GREEN. Guests can look forward to another perfect base for ski and golf adventures—right on the Uderns Golf Course.
