Ane Ayo, perfumer at Firmenich, dreamed up this unprecedented springtime rain accord – that singular flash of freshness combining the pure transparency of a drop of water with its captivating mineral dimension. It’s a modern twist on the aquatic note, the pervasive signature of every fragrance in the house’s collection. Within the scent, this drop encounters a profusion of colorful flowers, like a rush of damp petals including the splendid lilac accord, already the emblem of the original A Drop d’Issey. Intertwined with Damask Rose, it suggests a new, tender and fresh floral signature. The journey of this poetic drop comes to an end as it rests on woods: crisp cedar and a creamy sandalwood accord, which reveals its full-bodied character. The divine feeling of freshness is extended onto a bed of white musks where it lasts for hours on end.
The Drop-Shaped Bottle Comes to Life in Color
The drop-shaped A Drop d’Issey bottle is back to house this traveling raindrop. Designed by Todd Bracher, the singular flacon bears the mark of a drop within a drop, as if seen through a magic magnifying glass. Dreamy colors in nature tones fade from the azure blue of the sky to the vibrant green of grasses in in the wind. The drop seems to take on the colors of each element it meets. Echoing this design, an eye-catching metallic blue-green finish adorns the new drop on the box.
Issey Miyake Takes Action
At Issey Miyake, celebrating nature isn’t just an imaginary or symbolic undertaking. The house strives to be more and more active in protecting the natural world. Every aspect of A Drop d’Issey Eau de Parfum Fraîche embodies this mobilization. The bottle is made of 5% recycled glass, and the box that houses it is made from cardboard from sustainably managed forests.
