Well in the Right Quarter

The Badhaus in Brixen is more than a boutique hotel. It is a gateway into a new fragment of the city. Between courtyard, Viertel Bar and arcaded walkways, a living neighbourhood unfolds—gently guiding guests from arrival into belonging.

The most beautiful thing about a city break is that moment when you stop being a guest. When you discover your café, find your favourite bench, and know the paths you gladly return to again and again. At the Badhaus, this happens effortlessly. A stay at this boutique hotel is far more than booking a room, it is an immersion into an entirely new quarter of the city.

Because it is not only the courtyard that opens up to the city. The Badhaus is part of a constellation of special places in Brixen that embody the idea of a living quarter—places that enable encounters, tell stories, and give guests the feeling of belonging, if only for a while.

The Viertel Bar, with its secluded courtyard, at once bridges the interior and extends outward into the old town. It is a fluid connection—an effortless transition. And a charming invitation to experience the South Tyrolean way of life in a relaxed, unpretentious manner: with a house-brewed Viertel beer or a Sylvaner from the Eisack Valley, with an aperitivo platter or freshly baked focaccia.

At the Lasserhaus, just a few steps across the bridge, we arrive at a place where art and history flow into one another. We breathe in the historic atmosphere of the house and let the diverse blend of contemporary and classical art wash over us.

We then wander through the narrow lanes and arcades to the Alten Schlachthof, where a Viertel beer is promptly ordered in the garden once more. Alongside it: the Schlachthof burger or “Metzgernudeln” with local beef and strozzapreti.

It is a mild summer evening. The city’s fountains murmur, just like the voices between the walls. We drift along with the current of the city. The gaze wanders to the Plose, the local mountain that seems to appear almost everywhere in Brixen—as if it were making sure that everything in the quarter is still in order. A quiet smile settles in, because by now one has become a natural part of this scene.
