When Outdoor Design Becomes a Quiet Gesture
Some objects do not need to be loud to create presence. EGADI, the new outdoor collection by Unopiù designed by Andrea Steidl and presented during Salone del Mobile 2026, belongs precisely to that category. Positioned somewhere between functionality and sculptural clarity, the project feels reduced, tactile and quietly confident.
The side tables and stools almost resemble architectural fragments. Their forms recall maritime elements such as bollards and cleats — functional objects long associated with durability, craftsmanship and coastal culture. EGADI translates these references into a contemporary design language that feels understated rather than decorative.
Between Object and Atmosphere
Crafted from Fiberstone with a glossy glazed finish, the collection consists of compact volumes with an almost monolithic presence. What defines EGADI most is the dialogue between its two complementary geometries: a subtle graphic tension that gives the pieces their identity without becoming visually intrusive.

Yet the collection is less about pure function and more about atmosphere. Whether placed on terraces, beside pools or within lounge settings, EGADI integrates naturally into outdoor spaces without trying to dominate them. The objects become quiet anchors within a larger spatial composition.

This versatility is what makes the collection particularly compelling. Lightweight and easy to move, the elements can continuously be rearranged — functioning equally well as standalone pieces or grouped sculptural compositions.
Mediterranean Materiality with Contemporary Restraint
The colour palette of Cioccolato, Dove, Stone and Terracotta reinforces the collection’s understated character. Earthy tones meet glossy surfaces, creating a balance between natural warmth and contemporary precision — a direction increasingly shaping modern outdoor living concepts.

EGADI forms part of a broader collective project initiated by Unopiù, conceived as a shared “travel diary” between different designers and perspectives. In doing so, the Italian outdoor brand moves beyond furniture alone, exploring the evolving relationship between objects, architecture and outdoor living.

Perhaps that is exactly where the strength of EGADI lies: it never tries to become the centre of attention — and therefore remains memorable.
