The Crystal VAYA Unique hotel is a unique gem at an altitude of 2,000 metres in the Tyrolean Ötztal. Two building complexes are connected here by a glass bridge, the radiance of which is multiplied by the sunlight. However, the true splendour of the hotel unfolds in its interior, where minimalist Alpine chic prevails. And of course, a little glitter is also a must.
New splendour
At The Crystal VAYA Unique, you can actually arrive in ski boots, as the hotel is located right on the piste. But wait, let’s take a look around first. After all, it would be a shame not to take a closer look at the hotel’s design. After the VAYA Group took over the hotel, the rooms, lobby, restaurant and bar were redesigned in autumn 2022. Home Interior and Wohnatelier Gstrein were involved in the planning, as was carpenter Konrad Hundhammer.

Minimalist design is the main focus here, with the Tyrolean environment being incorporated into the design on several occasions. Sounds like a contradiction? Not at all! Thanks to the large glass panes, the imposing mountain panorama with the three thousand metre peaks is close enough to touch. The choice of colours and materials is a little more subtle when it comes to the surroundings. The earthy tones and the abundance of oak wood are intended to reflect the vastness of the mountain landscape surrounding the hotel. In the swimming pool, you can swim your lengths under a sleek antler. The sparkle mentioned in the introduction can be found in the light installation in the stairwell.
The crystalline elements reflect the name as well as the glittering snow and the sparkle of the mountain lakes.

And then there are the selected design elements, including vases and flowers, which create a cosy atmosphere. The main focus here is on furniture and accessories from Pols Potten. These include the Marble Look Pillar, the Holy Chair and the Clover Stool. The large suites are also furnished by Pols Potten. They have their own fireplace, floor-to-ceiling glass front and wrap-around balcony. And by the way: skiing is not an issue at the moment anyway, it is May after all. But a glance into the crystal ball tells us: the next snowfall is sure to come!
