An oasis of tranquility in the bustling heart of the metropolis. A place of contemplation and retreat, serving as a counterpoint to the bustling activities of the urban surroundings. The historically preserved ensemble, consisting of a former courthouse and a women’s prison, has been redesigned, expanded, and repurposed by the architects Grüntuch Ernst. It now houses the Hotel Wilmina, the Lovis Restaurant, and an art and cultural space called Amtsalon.

Felix Muhrhofer is an interior designer and artist working on projects around the world, and for him, terrazzo is more than simply a material. The burgers with an Asian twist are now also available in Vienna. But it’s not just the culinary side of things that’s best of both worlds here. Thanks to the renowned architecture studio Tzou Lubroth the interior is very stylish – including a pinch of Viennese style.

The Beauty of Diversity moves in the field of tension between an established understanding of art and its renewal. The exhibition unfolds its persuasive power in the juxtaposition of renowned artists who have always wanted to strain the canon and yet have become canonised, and new discoveries as well as those who irritate viewing habits, swim against the tide, shake the foundations of high culture, break the norm and thus establish the aesthetics of diversity.

Alvisi Kirimoto designs the setting of the great exhibition “Rivoluzione Vedova”, devised and designed by the Fondazione Emilio e Annabianca Vedova and co-produced with the M9-Museum of the 20th Century.
