Mezza—Maiso: aiming high

Yes, the view of St Stephen’s Cathedral from up here is breathtaking. The view inside the penthouse flat is no less heavenly: the Haute—Étage designed by Mezza—Maiso is a perfect example of what the interdisciplinary office of Verena Wohlkönig and Jürgen Hamberger understands by interior design. Not just the design of a living space, but the realisation of a holistic narrative. In other words, a curated total work of art that is realised at the highest level from the first draft to the last fragrance note.

Put in context

What luck it is to be able to see your city from the perspective of a bird every day, isn’t it? A feeling of freedom. A space to breathe. Vastness and timelessness. In the Haute—Étage penthouse project, MezzaMaiso brings this uplifting feeling to the interior of the flat. The open room structure provides light and airiness. Outdoor and indoor flow seamlessly into one another.

Between inside and outside

A 65 square metre terrace with bamboo, wild vines and olive trees serves as a gentle transition between worlds. It smells of lavender, rosemary and abelia. The Asian-Mediterranean feel-good space comes from a planting concept by Kramer und Kramer. And the colourful lounge furniture from Talenti selected by Mezza—Maiso creates a holiday atmosphere in the city.

Open-minded

Speaking of which – are we perhaps in New York or Paris and not in Vienna? Well, St Stephen’s Cathedral, as the city’s landmark, is proof to the contrary and yet the flat has a cosmopolitan flair with its opulent elements and spaciousness. A balancing act that Mezza—Maiso has achieved through the targeted use of glamorous eye-catchers. The black freestanding bathtub by Antonio Lupi in front of the shimmering green marble wall by Fondovalle is like a work of art. The same goes for the fireplace made of green granite stone and the wine-red Globe Trotter – Wonder sideboard by Marcel Wanders for Roche Bobois.

Full-Service

Designer pieces from renowned brands such as Minotti, Baxter and Flos are naturally combined here with customised products and selected collectibles curated by Mezza—Maiso. There’s hardly any need to mention the attention to detail here, is there? Nothing is left to chance, not even the wood for the fireplace, the crockery or even the soap or fragrances for the room.

At Mezza—Maiso, interior projects are not just understood as a simple furnishing task, but are viewed from different perspectives. This includes an artistic eye as well as an eye for detail and a good nose for cosy indoor air.
