When an internationally acclaimed designer joins forces with an iconic boutique hotel and a heritage furniture manufacturer, the result is more than a room – it’s a statement. Two newly designed rooms at Hotel Altstadt Vienna, created by Arthur Arbesser in collaboration with Wittmann, unite Viennese charm with Milanese flair.
Mezza—Maiso excels at building bridges between disciplines. This is demonstrated by the team led by Verena Wohlkönig and Jürgen Hamberger in their interior design projects as well as in the curation of their collectibles. Their approach goes far beyond mere design—they create connections between design, art, architecture, and curatorial concepts. A prime example is their staging of the limited edition Gropius Lounge Chair: a photo series that blurs the line between art and design.

A design “grandmaster” was chosen by the Persian Gulf emirate to create an institution that celebrates its cultural heritage and landscape: the National Museum of Qatar in Doha. For this project, Pritzker prize-winner Jean Nouvel produced an avant-garde building inspired by the desert rose, an ornate formation of crystal clusters with overlapping discs primarily found in dry desert regions. And architect Koichi Takada continued this analogy with nature for the interior design of the gift shop.
