The Crystal VAYA Unique hotel is a unique gem at an altitude of 2,000 metres in the Tyrolean Ötztal. Two building complexes are connected here by a glass bridge, the radiance of which is multiplied by the sunlight. However, the true splendour of the hotel unfolds in its interior, where minimalist Alpine chic prevails. And of course, a little glitter is also a must.

The OLM Nature Escape is definitely a building with a recognisable character. How did it come about to plan a round building, what challenges are associated with the 360° angle and why is the shape also a symbol of sustainability? We spoke to architect Andreas Gruber about his first hospitality project, which has been thoroughly thought through!

“Hey Vienna, At least one concept from Berlin made it to the neighbourhood” could be read on the red backlit notice board at the opening of the new Shiso location. The burgers with an Asian twist are now also available in Vienna. But it’s not just the culinary side of things that’s best of both worlds here. Thanks to the renowned architecture studio Tzou Lubroth the interior is very stylish – including a pinch of Viennese style.

HOW TO MAKE GUESTS HAPPY? WITH THEIR FIRST HOSPITALITY PROJECT, NILS AM SEE, VERENA WOHLKÖNIG AND JÜRGEN HAMBERGER FROM MEZZA-MAISO HAVE PROVEN THAT THEY KNOW WHAT IT TAKES TO MAKE HOLIDAYMAKERS SMILE. IN AN INTERVIEW ABOUT HOTEL DESIGN, THE FOUNDERS OF THE VIENNESE INTERIOR DESIGN FIRM REVEAL HOW ROOM CATEGORIES AND COOKING INGREDIENTS ARE CONNECTED, WHAT THE SALT IN THE SOUP HAS TO DO WITH ART AND WHY IT’S ALL ABOUT THE RIGHT FEELING.

An oasis of tranquility in the bustling heart of the metropolis. A place of contemplation and retreat, serving as a counterpoint to the bustling activities of the urban surroundings. The historically preserved ensemble, consisting of a former courthouse and a women’s prison, has been redesigned, expanded, and repurposed by the architects Grüntuch Ernst. It now houses the Hotel Wilmina, the Lovis Restaurant, and an art and cultural space called Amtsalon.

Vienna, 18 April – The Calle Libre Street Art association, known for its artworks on façades in urban spaces, is surprising us with its latest initiative: the exhibition “Comm:unity – a female street art exhibition” brings street art to the renowned Galerie Hartinger. From 25 April 2024, the gallery will be presenting a diverse selection of works by six talented female artists from the street art scene.

The circle closes at OLM, the round Eco Aparthotel in the South Tyrolean Taufer Valley. It all began with a millstone – now guests can expect a refined “Olm” character in harmony with nature. Harmonious architecture, a forward-looking catering concept and a hotel that is energy self-sufficient and certified for its sustainability characterise the OLM. Everything runs smoothly here:
